DATE:
AUTHOR: The Avidon Health team

This release features the long-awaited debut of our fully functional, full-featured mobile app! This app gives participants complete access to the platform’s features directly from their smartphones, offering a seamless mobile experience. We’ve also launched a major redesign of the Challenges interface, improving usability and visual appeal. Lastly, we've continued to expand both the course and on-demand challenge catalogs with a total of three new additions.

Introducing the Full-Featured Avidon Mobile App!

We’re excited to announce the launch of the full-featured Avidon mobile app, now available to your participants. Please contact your account executive to enable it for your account.

This powerful new tool brings the entire Avidon experience directly to smartphones, offering greater flexibility and supporting deeper engagement; it allows us to meet members where they are—psychologically, physically, and geographically (as long as they have their phone). With the app, your members can explore the course catalog, currently featuring over 25 digital courses and continually growing (there are two more with this release). Members can go through the entire Challenge experience: they can register, enter tracker data, read articles, watch videos, flow through a flow, keep on top of their progress, monitor leaderboards (if enabled), all the way to completion.

The app also provides easy access to key tools, like the personal journal, along with the extensive content library, which includes over 700 curated articles, videos, and audio guides. Plus, the app integrates seamlessly with wearable devices to make progress tracking even easier.

Whether they’re at home, at work, or on the move, participants will be empowered to take meaningful steps toward lasting change, anytime and anywhere.

Big Updates to Challenges UI

A Smarter, Sleeker Experience

In planned coordination with the mobile app launch, we’ve rolled out a refreshed Challenge interface optimized for all devices. This redesign not only sharpens the visual presentation but also makes it easier for participants to stay on track and inspired throughout their journey.

Participants will now experience a cleaner, more intuitive layout that’s consistent across desktop, tablet, and mobile. The overall aesthetics have been upgraded for clarity and consistently across presentation of all Challenges. Just as importantly, progress tracking has been enhanced: participants can now quickly see where they are within a phase and in the broader context of the Challenge. This makes it easier to understand what's been completed, what's coming up, and how far they’ve come. It's also easier than ever to dive into a Challenge at any time, whether to log tracker entries or to find a motivational prompt for some in-the-moment brain-training.

Finally, we've enhanced the Challenge history presentation to give participants meaningful snapshots of their accomplishments, from past participation stats to completed milestones, members can now reflect on their successes and build momentum for what’s next.

Here's a shot of an in-process Challenge from the mobile view:

Two New Courses & an On-Demand Challenge

We’ve added two new courses and another in our growing set of On-Demand Challenges as we address nuanced areas of interest and relevance.

Healthy Gut, Healthy Body

This 3-module course reveals the vital role of the gut microbiome in mood, energy, and immunity. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of imbalance and adopt some simple, gut-friendly habits. This course is great for anyone who are seeking information about holistic health and for those who simply want to learn about the "second brain." You can see more about the course here.

From Peri to Post—Navigating Menopause

This 3-module course defines the different stages of menopause, examines issues that are common for each stage, and provides practical strategies for those approaching, experiencing, or supporting someone through menopause. Click here to check out a more detailed outline of the course.

Activate! 7 Days of Motion (Challenge)

This new On-Demand Challenge is designed specifically for those who have let daily movement and exercise slip way down on the priority list. Comprised of seven 1-day phases, this course encourages the reintegration into a life of movement with instructional prompts—like stretches and posture resets and quick strength-training sets—to break up sedentary routines and build lasting habits. For portals with the Challenge Autopilot function enabled, the Activate! Challenge is available for members whenever they want to start. To view more about this Challenge, see this roadmap item.

End-Of-Life Notices

Starting August 31st, TLS 1.2 will no longer be supported for calls to our API, and all connection requests will be required to utilize TLS 1.3. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest standards of security and performance for our services. TLS 1.3 offers significant improvements in both security and performance over TLS 1.3. Please ensure that your systems and applications are updated to support TLS 1.3 before August 31st, 2025, to avoid any disruptions in service. If you have any questions or need assistance with this transition, our Platform Support team is here to help.

On July 8th, the old SelfHelpWorks companion mobile app will be retired. On that date, all clients who have the app enabled will be switched over to the new Avidon app.
