New Course: A Shift Worker's Guide to Health and Sanity
Goal: This course helps people working nontraditional schedules—like night shifts, rotating shifts, or irregular hours—build routines that support their sleep, nutrition, and wellbeing. By addressing the unique challenges of shift work, participants will learn how to stay energized, healthy, and mentally sharp, even when their schedule doesn’t match the 9-to-5 norm.
Topics and Themes: Participants will explore how shift work impacts the body’s natural rhythms (body clock disruptions), and how that can affect sleep, digestion, energy, and mood. The course offers strategies for improving sleep quality, eating well on a rotating schedule, and preventing burnout. It also includes tips for navigating social life, family time, getting adequate exposure to light, and self-care when working off-hours.
Audience: This course is designed for anyone working outside a typical, well-established daytime schedule—whether in healthcare, transportation, retail, hospitality, or emergency services. This course will help those who want to feel more in control of their routines avoid the long-term stress and fatigue that can come with shift-based work.
